**Springfield Armory M1 Garand National Match Type 3
.30-06. 24" barrel length. SN: 6094601. Parkerized metal finish set in walnut semi-pistol grip stock with National Match style aperture rear and front blade sights. Long stroke piston driven rotating bolt semi-automatic rifle fed by an internal magazine charged with en bloc clips. Serial number corresponds to 1957 production for the receiver, and the configuration of the rifle corresponds to a Type 3 National Match rifle. Receiver shows the standard Springfield Armory marking with the number to the right receiver reading F6528291. Rear sight is struck NM/2A with the aperture numbered 595. Left barrel shows the NM mark above the gas cylinder with the right barrel showing a {Defense Acceptance Stamp}, a P proof with punch dot to the loop, drawing number SA F7791035 with the barrel date reading 12 62 Y9, indicating it was made in December, 1962. Gas cylinder struck with NM behind the sling swivel. Bolt marking reads 6528287-SA/A-10. Trigger housing drawing number reads 6528290-SA with the hammer face struck SA D5546008. Operating rod displays the radius cut, and the NM marking, correct for such a rifle made in 1962. The stock is glass bedded and shows both a circle P mark and {Defense acceptance stamp} on the wrist. Comes with Rock Island Arsenal marked bill of sale attesting it was sold as a National Match rifle. {C&R}
